About Seville
Seville, also known as the capital city of Andalusia, is considered one of the most important cities in Spain. Around the 9th century, it is believed that Seville was founded by the Tartessos when the city was named Spal. Later the city was occupied by Phoenicians and Carthaginians. When Romans entered the city in 206 BC, the name of the city was Latinized and thus renamed to Hispalis. In 426, Seville came under Visigothic rule until in 712 it was conquered by the Moors.
