The breathtaking Vintgar Gorge features mossy ravines, emerald streams, and cliffside views. Visitors can follow the Wooden Walkway Trail for 1.6 km and cross bridges and boardwalks nestled along the cliffs of the Radovna River gorge. The gem of the gorge is the Sum Waterfall, a dramatic 13-meter waterfall pooling in crystalline waters below. The many rapids and pools of the gorge are a mesmerizing sight, particularly in the spring after the surrounding ice melts, raising water levels. The gorge also features a stone arch railway bridge from 1906, which serves as the ideal photo frame. Entry to the Gorge area is open 7:00 to 18:30.
