Daytrip is a platform that connects you with local drivers who will transport you door-to-door, from one city to the next. We also give you the opportunity to explore sights/attractions along the way. We drive, you discover.
All Daytrip bookings are one way. If you need a return trip on a different date, simply book this as a separate one-way trip. For a same-day excursion, please request a custom trip. If you plan to stay more than a couple hours, we still recommend booking two one way trips so you're not paying a driver for waiting.
For Daytrip’s private service, you can cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before departure. For the Daytrip Pool shared shuttle, we offer 3 ticket options when booking: Non-refundable, Flexible with cancellations 24-hours before departure, and Super-flexible with cancellations up to 15-minutes before departure. While you can cancel your booking for a full refund up to 24 hours in advance, changes requested under 36 hours are subject to driver availability, especially in the high season.
Simply choose your origin and destination via our homepage and enter your departure date and time. Browse and add sightseeing stops along the way by following the booking instructions provided on screen. It's a simple, easy, and fun way to book your next adventure! And if you don’t see your desired route on our website, you can request a custom trip. You can even book without knowing your exact pick-up or drop-off address - we let you add these later!
Each passenger is allowed one large bag (29" x 21" x 11" / 74 x 53 x 28 cm) and one small bag (22" x 14" x 9" / 56 x 36 x 23 cm). Luxury sedans can only accommodate 2 large bags. We always send the vehicle that is the best fit for you and your luggage, so make sure to select the actual amount of luggage you are traveling with when booking. If you have oversized luggage, or are unsure if your luggage will fit, contact us.
Everywhere except the USA, drivers will supply appropriate child seats (just let us know during booking). In the USA, certain states require you to supply your own child seats.
Once you get to the Hallstatt Bahnhof train station, you can catch a ferry to the opposite side of the lake to the beautiful old town center. The cost of this ferry ticket varies, but you can expect to pay about four euros for a one-way trip. Cash is best for buying a ticket onboard.
The distance between Vienna and Hallstatt is approximately 86 miles (138 km). Depending on how you choose to travel, it usually takes between two and three hours one way. Driving with a private car service is usually the fastest option if no sightseeing is done.
The price of a train ticket from Vienna to Hallstatt will vary depending on your booking time and the class of ticket you purchase. Most travelers have found that visiting Hallstatt from Vienna costs between 20 and 55 euros, with tickets becoming more expensive closer to the departure date.
Unfortunately, if you plan to visit Hallstatt by train, you should know that direct train tickets for this route are limited, so many travel by car. In most cases, you will likely encounter at least one transfer, usually at the Attnang-Puchheim station, before you get to Hallstatt.
If you're on a budget, ride the bus. Ticket prices start at around 20 euros per one-way trip. If you want more comfort and less fuss, car travel with a private driver from Daytrip is the best option for door-to-door service.
Train and bus travel is scenic, but most prefer to book a private car transfer service like Daytrip. With Daytrip, you can stop and see places like the picturesque spa town of Bad Ischl, the quiet imperial town of Melk, and the imposing structure of Kreauzenstein. There's much to see and do!

“Gonzalo from daytrip was our driver and he was absolutely amazing. He went over and beyond trying to locate us as our service wasn't so good on our phones. He patiently awaited our arrival to the lobby so he could take us from Tulum Dreams Resort to our other hotel in cancun an hour and a half away near the airport prior to our departure flight home. He was polite, respectful and kind. Made sure we were comfortable during our long ride. Fast and to the point. I recommend this company as finding a one way ride from Tulum to Cancun isn't easy or cheap and this company provides a great service for a great price. I will definitely be using them again whenever I'm in the Cancun/Tulum area. Thank you DayTrip and Gonzola.”
“We booked a one - way trip from Passau, Germany to Prague, CR. Throughout the booking, Daytrip@daytrip.com was very communicate about our trip. When our ship arrived in Passau, we waited for our car and drive. Fifteen minutes before its arrival we realized that we had scheduled the wrong date. We telephoned Daytrip and explained our error. Daytrip arranged for another car and driver and within three hours, he had arrived. THAT is customer service. Our driver, Jici, was professional and provided us with all the comfort we expected. Thank you Daytrip.”
“This morning, 13th December 2017 we used Daytrip for our transfer from Vienna to Hallstatt. My chauffeur was Mr. Peter D. It took about 3 hours to get to Hallstatt. Mr. Peter D. arrived at our hotel in Vienna half an hour before our designated time. We knew it because He arrived right after we settled the hotel's bill. It was impressive because He's not letting the client to wait and even could depart early and the bonus was we could arrive early at Hallstatt. The transfer run smoothly and what we're really amazed was how he accompanied us until our hotel in Hallstatt which located in the center of the city, that made him to wait for our shuttle bus to depart, accompanied us until infront of the receptionist and took care of our luggage. He even paid for our shuttle bus. He's really a great and friendly chauffeur. He was trully an asset for the company. We felt like having a first class transfer. Oooo...last but not least...the car was so clean, nice, comfy and during our trip...the background music was baroque...our favorite. Overall...it was perfect in my opinion. Because actually I felt a little bit worry using a car for our transfer.”
“This is a fantastic company!! Milo was great! He was fun, informative, flexible and a real joy to be around. We didn't feel like hassling with the trains after a looooong transatlantic flight, plus we wanted to stop for some sightseeing in between destinations without lugging luggage around, so we called Daytrip! I wish there was a Daytrip in every location I travel. I would use them EVERYWHERE! Very happy customers!”
