After you make your way from Kuala Lumpur to Malacca, you will find yourself in the historic heart of Malaysia. The city blends its rich history with vibrant cultural activities and an exciting nightlife, drawing millions of visitors every year.
The city preserves its heritage as first a blended state of the Malay and Indian people and then a Sultanate providence peaking during the 15th century. Later, the colonial era began in the early 16th century with a bloody eradication of the Muslim population spearheaded by conqueror Alfonso de Albuquerque. The Portuguese dominance in Malacca that followed the war eventually waned as the Dutch secured the city as an international trade foothold.
Eventually, the state was taken over by the British East India Company in 1824, remaining a British colony until its independence treaty in 1942.
This storied past and the city’s many cultural influences are still evident today in the carefully preserved ruins, the variance across local architecture and art forms, and the diverse cuisine available. Travelers flock to Malacca to explore its rich historical touchstones as well as to enjoy its year-round warm temperatures and surrounding natural beauty.
Now a UNESCO World Heritage city, Malacca is home to a range of cultural sites such as temples, palaces, and museums that make it an incredible destination. The city also hosts a vibrant nightlife, namely around its famous night market on the bustling Jonker Street, and offers fantastic shopping and dining opportunities for every taste. This busy historical and cultural hub should be a bucket-list destination for any traveler.

This way, you will also avoid the thickest crowds during mid-day.
Choosing a private car service for your transfer will give you the most comfortable and convenient experience possible. Your friendly English-speaking driver will transport you from door to door and be able to offer some local insight along the way. This visually striking mosque appears to hover just over the surface of the Strait of Malacca. The mosque itself is ornately decorated with a bright gold dome and rich blue detailing. This dramatic sight is more modernist than many of the worship sites in Malacca and is well worth exploring for its sheer beauty alone. Visitors may be rewarded with particularly good views at dawn or dusk when sunrise and sunset dance off of the water and reflect onto the mosque.
Visitors who journey to the top of this observation tower are rewarded with unbeatable panoramic views of the cityscape below. The bravest travelers can even opt for an amusement park-style ride that allows them to ride in an enclosed glass ring outside of the tower all the way to the top. “Gonzalo from daytrip was our driver and he was absolutely amazing. He went over and beyond trying to locate us as our service wasn't so good on our phones. He patiently awaited our arrival to the lobby so he could take us from Tulum Dreams Resort to our other hotel in cancun an hour and a half away near the airport prior to our departure flight home. He was polite, respectful and kind. Made sure we were comfortable during our long ride. Fast and to the point. I recommend this company as finding a one way ride from Tulum to Cancun isn't easy or cheap and this company provides a great service for a great price. I will definitely be using them again whenever I'm in the Cancun/Tulum area. Thank you DayTrip and Gonzola.”
“We were picked up by Marianna to drive us from Heraklion to Chania. The weather was terrible & due to this Marianna arrived a few minutes late. She contacted me to advise of this. Marianna lives in Chana and she made our trip very interesting by informing us of local things to do and see in Chania. Marianna is a safe driver and we all felt comfortable with the speed she drove at and how good her driving was in heavy rain. She is a lovely person with fluent English. We highly recommend Daytrips and if you are in Heraklion or Chania please make sure you ask for Marianna.”
“Used the service to go from Luxor to Hurghada, Egypt. Ahmed H was our driver and he was perfect. The car was new, clean, he had water and snacks for us, and accommodated our stops. Great service from him and would recommend it.”
“We hired a car pickup from Kuala Lumpar-Malacca and return. They picked us up right on time and gave us a excellent ride. Will use them again!”
