It is a cost-effective and direct option, without the need for transfers. But it offers less flexibility, and you'll need to get to and from bus stations which adds extra time to your trip.
Athens to Nafplio by train
There is no direct train service from Athens to Nafplio. You can take a train to Corinth and then switch to a bus for the remainder of the journey. You would spend two hours on the train to Corinth, plus additional time for the bus transfer to Nafplio. Keep in mind that it requires a transfer and good timing. In general, it's better to just take the direct bus if you're on a budget.
