Kravica Falls has a small entrance fee that includes access to the swimming area, paths, and viewpoints. Bring cash in local currency or euros, both typically accepted. Pocitelj is generally free to enter, though some buildings like the fortress tower may charge a modest fee. Cafes and small shops at both sites prefer cash, so having small denominations on hand is useful throughout the day.
Kravica Falls is about 25 miles (40 km) south of Mostar, with the drive taking roughly 50 minutes. Pocitelj sits about 18 miles (29 km) south of Mostar, around 30 minutes away. The two destinations form a natural loop, making this day trip an efficient way to experience both Herzegovina's most beautiful waterfall and one of its most photogenic Ottoman villages.
Pocitelj's steep cobbled ascent and uneven steps make it challenging for travelers with limited mobility or strollers. Reaching the fortress tower at the summit requires a strenuous climb, but lower sections of the village can be enjoyed by those who prefer a shorter visit. Modest dress is required throughout because Pocitelj is an active Muslim community. Sturdy footwear is absolutely essential.
Cafes near Kravica Falls serve traditional Bosnian dishes like cevapi, grilled minced meat with flatbread, and burek, savory pastries filled with meat or cheese. In Pocitelj, family-run restaurants on the slopes offer Ottoman-influenced cuisine including stuffed peppers, lamb stews, and Turkish-style coffee. Local figs, pomegranates, and homemade preserves from roadside stalls are also worth sampling on the drive between sites.

Late spring and early autumn offer the best balance of pleasant weather and lower crowds. The pool is open for swimming from June through September, when the water is refreshing and clear. July and August are extremely busy, so arriving early in the morning helps you avoid the crowds. In winter, the falls are more powerful and dramatic but too cold for swimming.
