Buses from Ljubljana to Salzburg

Flixbus has six departures per day from Ljubljana to Salzburg. But departure times are mostly at night and require being at one of the bus stations late into the night. The best daytime option departs at 1:30 PM and arrives in Salzburg at 5:30 PM. So you essentially waste a day.

Tickets for this route cost between $30 and $85 and include one piece of luggage. It is a 4-hour long journey between the bus stations, with additional time for taxis to and from each of your hotels.

Trains from Ljubljana to Salzburg

OBB operates six trains per day from Ljubljana to Salzburg, though they all require a transfer in Villach. The platforms used by OBB in Villach are not handicap or stroller accessible, so keep that in mind. The train journey takes 4.5 hours, and tickets start at $32.

Hike Kapuzinerberg
