About Fatima
After your Lisbon to Fatima transfer, you will find yourself in a mystical town in central Portugal, known for its religious and prophetic events throughout history. Fatima is a peaceful village that offers a quiet contrast to the busier cities such as Lisbon and Porto. It is a fantastic destination for history buffs and those on religious journeys, as well as for the casual traveler wanting a slower pace of life in the heart of the country.
Fatima is most famous for its history of Catholic miracles, specifically apparitions of the Virgin Mary. In 1917, three children aged 10 and under claimed to have seen the Virgin Mary appear while tending to sheep. Then, over the course of several months, the children claimed to have witnessed five additional apparitions during which the Virgin Mary revealed to them several prophecies pertaining to the end of World War I.
The children publicized that the Virgin Mary had promised a miracle for October of that year. On October 13, the children along with a range of visitors who had traveled to witness the religious spectacle, claimed to see what has been denoted the “Miracle of the Sun.”
While accounts vary, it’s said that Fatima experienced a sudden shift from a dark and rainy day to a breakthrough of brilliant sun, dappling the landscape with multicolored lights and instantly drying the clothes of the farmers and visitors as well as the muddy fields.
Now, millions of religious pilgrims visit Fatima each year on the dates of the apparitions, hosting an incredible procession by candlelight and gathering to pray and celebrate. Travelers visiting on the 13th day of each month from May to October can witness the proceedings.

"Alex was outstanding! He was very knowledgeable and very respectful. Did not rush us at all—patiently returned to sights that were not open at first; interpreted for us too; offered to take us to a sight we could not visit the day before related to a strike. We declined related to our time restraints.
Please let him know we took the Fatima tour he recommended and saw the “bullet”."

"First of, I just want to thank you for offering this service and at the same time, I want to thank my lucky stars to have been able to find you when I was searching for the best and practical way to get to Fatima from Lisbon and back with the very tight schedule we have. Amit has been nothing less than WONDERFUL! He made us feel safe and comfortable. Mind you, we are just ordinary people but he made us feel like we are VIPs! He also made it possible to squeeze our last minute request for an extra stop to Sintra on our way back and even included Cabo de Roca. We got MORE than what we thought we could, in that very short time we were in Portugal. He is also very informative and shared a lot of information regarding the history and culture of Portugal and was very accommodating to answer our questions and feed our inquisitive minds. We cannot stop raving about the whole experience and we surely want to go back again and utilize your service when the opportunity comes again.
Thank you very much and please, please do tell Amit how grateful we are.
More power to you and the entire Daytrip staff! You guys rock!"

"Hello team!
Pedro was extraordinary!
He was there waiting for us kindly when we were in the lobby of our hotel.
He drove at a perfect pace. Followed the speed limits. There was water for us too.
He explained somethings that we saw along the road and got to know eachother a bit.
But also some quiet time and my husband was able to nap a bit.
When we arrived pedro gave us the option either to come with us or to let us go on our own. We gladly accepted his offer to come with. He was so hospitable, he bought us traditional shots of ginja that we cheers toguether.
On our second stop in Nazaré, we found a nice spot for lunch and we invited him and it was lovely. We ended up paying for his lunch because its was just a fun time.
After we really wanted to walk on the beach so we set up a meeting point.
We found him 30 min later. And hopped to our final destination.
Perfect balance of helping and giving space if needed. Like a driver but like a friend showing you around kindly. Then letting your space at some times.
We will always remember that daytrip very fondly"
