"This is my first time in Ireland, and I could not have asked for a better trip and driver than Abdul for my introduction to being chauffeured from Galway to Belfast. I was originally going to take the train, but decided to hire a private driver instead, when I thought about the reality of being in my 50s and lugging two suitcases by myself from a train to a bus to a second train station.... and I'm so glad I did!
The key points someone thinking about doing this may be wondering about -
- he was on time and communicated clearly before showing up
- he was both professional and helpful
- he was a safe driver
- he had water and snacks (both salty and chocolatey) easily available
- also easily available were tissues and hand sanitizer
- he asked if I needed chargers or wifi
And then there are the things that may not be on everyone's list but I appreciated
- he checked in with me to make sure I knew that stops for leg-stretching, a sit-down lunch if I was hungry, or spots to freshen up were available on the road multiple times
- he had a great selection of music stations
- he knew a lot about the areas I was traveling to and suggested many things that I hadn't done (now I need to come back again!)
- he also knew history and trivia about the places were were driving through, and would make an excellent tour guide
All in all I'm very glad that I decided to hire a driver/chauffeur and was lucky enough to get Abdul. I would hire him again any time - I hope he's still driving the next time I come back to Ireland! "

I was a little nervous since I didn't receive any messages or text the day before confirming our trip, and we didn't exactly know what to expect which would have been helpful. Once he arrived, the trip was smooth and he consistently checked in to see if we needed a stop to stretch our legs, etc. Very comfortable ride. "
