"Leo was an amazing friend and driver. We could not have been happier to find him and book him dormouse drive. It was a good amount of time in a car (4 hours between Cartagena and Santa Marta) but the van was spacious and comfortable and the A/C was great. The trip was actually quick, we didnât have to make any stops, so we got right where we were going. Leo was even so great that he made an extra effort to get us our favorite Colombian snack, mango biche! It was indescribably easy, fun, and stress free. Next time weâre in Colombia, Leo is our go-to for transportation. If I could give him 100 stars, I would!"
"So, you want to hear our opinion on our new friend, Leo? :-) OK, I will try to be rather objective, and too emotional.
Well, I cannot say anything else, just the best of the bests regarding Leo. He is an excellent driver, an excellent guide, and (now we know that) also a good friend.
We were able to communicate with him prior to our trip on WhatsApp. You might be aware that just that very day there were some riots in Cartagena. (We had not been aware of that before). So, we asked him if it was safe to travel, and he responded (immediately!) there is no reason to worry, we will circumscribe the areas with possible riots. And that was the case. We did not even see anything of those protests.
He was at our apart-hotel, even a little bit early, waited for us patiently, helped us with the luggages, and we left for Santa Marta. On the way he gave us a lot of information regarding Cartagena, Santa Marta, Colombia, the history, social life, etc. We learned more from him during that trip than from travel guides during several guided tours. He speaks excellent English! He also offered to stop at a restaurant at Barranquilla, to have a good lunch, if we wanted. First we hesitated, then we decided to ask him to stop at that restaurante. It was a very good idea! We had an excellent lunch at a great place from nice people for a reasonable price. Thank you Leo!"
