Can I request children’s car seats for the journey?

We also have handicapped-accessible vehicles available for a wide range of needs for our passengers. When booking your day trip, please specify the accommodations you will need.

Can I pay securely online?

Booking your day trip is as easy as our one-way and return trips! On the landing page of the day trip you’d like to take, simply select the date, pick up time, and how many adults and children will be on the trip. On the second page, you’ll fill in personal details, including any special requests, disability accommodations, and children’s car seats you may need. We are flexible too! Thingvellir National Park is a remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Site where visitors can see the rift where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are slowly separating. Travelers can walk between the plates by exploring Almannagja Gorge, and take photos of its magnificent waterfall: Oxarafoss. The site is also home to Iceland’s largest natural lake and was once the location of the country’s ancient parliament. At night, the lack of light pollution makes the park one of the best places to spot the aurora borealis.

Seeing the Aurora Borealis in all its glory is a bucket list item for many travelers, and there are few better places to see it than in Hella on a cold, dark night. The countryside around this small town faces very little light pollution, leading to the dark skies required for viewing and photographing the Northern Lights. Keep in mind that an Aurora sighting is never a guarantee and depends on the solar activity and weather conditions. Winter nights from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM offer the best chance at spotting the lights, and plenty of warm layers are essential.

Awesome experience! Highly recommend!

So, so happy I stumbled upon this website to book two private transports while visiting Lima, Peru. They were both one-way trips approximately 3 hours in length. Great communication as soon as everything was booked via email and I then downloaded their app. I had a few issues with the app and the customer service was awesome trying to assist me in getting it corrected. Honestly impressive customer service which gave you a positive feeling that you made the right choice. Both drivers were right on time - No issues whatsoever! Can't say enough about the service and ease of everything when travelling so far away. Great job to the daytrip team! Would strongly recommend.

Touring through Tuscany

We had the same driver for our 2 day trip in tuscany. I was able to develop my own itinerary so I could go where we wanted and see the things we wanted. Marco was fantastic!! He opened doors for us and made sure my mother was able to get in and out of the car easily. He had water in the car for us. He was early picking us up both days and brought us as close to the towns as he could. He told us which way to go to enter the cities and then sent me his location so we knew how to get back to him after traveling the streets. Im so happy I decided to get a driver to take us through Tuscany. It took all the worry and anxiety of driving through this region I had never been to and didnt know where to park. Money well spent!

It was a fantastic trip.

We were extremely satisfied with the quality of service we received from Day Trip. We had two Day Trip rides on August 31 from Athens to Lefkada and September 7 from Lefkada back to Athens. Both trips included stops at scenic sites in Greece. Both drivers were excellent and accommodating. However, we’d especially like to recognize Panos Peppas, who was our driver from Lefkada to Athens. Panos was incredibly nice & pleasant and delivered outstanding customer service, which included handling all of luggage, providing us with cold waters throughout the trip, providing us protein bars, providing us with printed materials on the Corinth Canal (one of scenic stops), looking up and providing us with terminal & gate info for our flight back home and providing us with a recipe for tzatziki.

Reasonably Priced and Safe Transportation

Gonzalo from daytrip was our driver and he was absolutely amazing. He went over and beyond trying to locate us as our service wasn't so good on our phones. He patiently awaited our arrival to the lobby so he could take us from Tulum Dreams Resort to our other hotel in cancun an hour and a half away near the airport prior to our departure flight home. He was polite, respectful and kind. Made sure we were comfortable during our long ride. Fast and to the point. I recommend this company as finding a one way ride from Tulum to Cancun isn't easy or cheap and this company provides a great service for a great price. I will definitely be using them again whenever I'm in the Cancun/Tulum area. Thank you DayTrip and Gonzola.

Daytrip never disappoints

We were picked up by Marianna to drive us from Heraklion to Chania. The weather was terrible & due to this Marianna arrived a few minutes late. She contacted me to advise of this. Marianna lives in Chana and she made our trip very interesting by informing us of local things to do and see in Chania. Marianna is a safe driver and we all felt comfortable with the speed she drove at and how good her driving was in heavy rain. She is a lovely person with fluent English. We highly recommend Daytrips and if you are in Heraklion or Chania please make sure you ask for Marianna.

Weather plays a crucial role in Northern Lights visibility. Cloudy or stormy conditions can obscure the aurora even when solar activity is strong. Winter weather in Iceland can be unpredictable, with sudden changes common. Your driver will monitor conditions and can adjust timing when possible. The trip remains enjoyable even in challenging weather, as both locations offer indoor warming areas and sheltered spots.

While aurora sightings are never guaranteed, Hella offers excellent viewing conditions due to minimal light pollution and dark countryside skies. The best chances occur on winter nights between 8:00 PM and 2:00 AM, from September through April. Clear skies and strong solar activity increase your odds. Even if the lights don't appear, Hella's remote beauty and starry skies make the journey worthwhile.

Hella's location in southern Iceland provides exceptionally dark skies far from urban light pollution. The surrounding countryside offers unobstructed views of the northern horizon where auroras typically appear. The small town atmosphere and rural setting create an intimate viewing experience.

Dress in very warm layers, as you'll be outside in cold temperatures. Thermal underwear, a heavy winter coat, warm hat, gloves, and insulated boots are essential. Bring a camera with manual settings and a tripod if you want to photograph the aurora. Hand and foot warmers can make the experience more comfortable during extended viewing periods.
