"The trip organisation by Daytrip was excellent with good communication throughout.
Our driver, Hamza, was great. He arrived at our hotel in plenty of time, he was friendly and courteous, and a safe driver.
We travelled from Amman to Petra stopping on the way at Madaba, Umm ar-Rasas and Shobak Castle. Hamza was happy to give us as much time as we needed at the various stops.
At our first stop we found the St George's church at Madaba, with its mosaic map of the world, a little underwhelming. Hamza then recommended a stop at nearby Mount Nebo, with terrific views towards Jerusalem, Jericho, etc. and some lovely mosaics inside the church there, which we enjoyed very much. Afterwards Hamza unexpectedly stopped at a 'Mosaic workshop' which was a bit of a tourist trap where we felt pressured to buy something.
Our second stop was at the Roman garrison town of Umm ar-Rasas. A lot of the buildings were so dilapidated that they were little more than piles of rocks. The saving grace was some absolutely superb mosaics in the Church of St Stephen, well worth stopping for.
Our final stop was at Shobak Castle. It's an impressive sight on top of a hill, but very dilapidated and crumbling away.
Overall the stops were interesting, and worth stopping for to break up the long journey from Amman to Petra, but weren't really major destinations in their own right."

He was even kind enough to buy us some snacks! Ibrahim is a genuinely lovely person and made us feel so comfortable. "My driver Ahmed Q. was terrific. He always was on time and kept his car tidy and spotlessly clean. He took care of me and fulfilled any wish I had, from taking tons of pictures to giving information on what we saw and talking about his country, Jordan.
Besides being an excellent driver, Ahmed is a very good person, dedicated to his job and ready to help me during my trip, giving advice about sightseeings, and even being close to me while visiting attractions along the way. He was so considerate and caring that he often offered me coffee and snacks along the road or before starting our driving day. I appreciated every minute of his company, and he made my trip!
