Ecomuseo de Arxeriz
Situated on a hilltop overlooking the Mino river, this ecomuseum thoughtfully utilizes interior and exterior spaces to depict history and life in the area.
About
Through a series of exhibits housed in the rooms of the manor, as well as thoughtfully organized displays on the surrounding grounds, Ecomuseu de Arxeriz allows visitors to lose themselves in the rich history and culture of the region. With areas dedicated to viticulture, ethnography, and life on the Mino river, as well as opportunities to explore the granaries and vineyards, the museum gives an authentic look into those that once lived on this very site. Visitors can also explore the manorâs various rooms including the original kitchen, where various utensils and original artifacts help to paint a picture of the manorâs dynamic history. Visitors can also admire the recently excavated Castro located on the grounds, which offers one of the most impressive vistas in the area. Operating hours of the museum do vary, and visitors are advised to ensure their travel schedule will allow a visit to the museum.
