A seaside bohemian oasis where art, history, and surf culture meet.
A designated Pueblo Mágico, a title given to towns with exceptional cultural, historical, or natural beauty, Todos Santos immediately charms with its creative energy. Begin your day in the historic center, wandering quiet streets lined with galleries showcasing local and international artists. Take a local history tour, stopping by the 18th-century Mission Church, the very site where the town, then a simple mission, was founded by Jaime Bravo in 1723. Stop into boutiques for handmade textiles, pottery, and Baja-inspired designs, then take a break in one of the town’s numerous cafés for regional coffee or light bites. Later, head to one of the town’s nearby beaches—beautiful, wide, and perfect for sunbathing or watching powerful Pacific waves roll in, though generally too rough for swimming. A 20-minute taxi ride away, Playa Cerritos offers calmer waters for bathing or surf lessons for the more adventurous. Return to Todos Santos for an afternoon art walk—mind the siesta closures—and end your evening with a visit to Oystera, a Michelin Guide-featured oyster bar serving more than ten varieties from across Mexico, paired with fresh regional dishes, excellent wines, local craft beers, and their signature Bloody Marys, all served with a scenic patio view.
