Taiping Lake Gardens
The first public gardens in Malaysia, this beautiful green space was once a tin mine.
Sobre
Opened in 1880, the 64 hectare Taiping Lake Gardens were the first public gardens in the country. Built atop an abandoned tin mine, this cherished green space is a serene park where tropical plants thrive. Visitors can enjoy a serene walk past the 10 ponds lined with huge rain trees, and stop to rest at the serene Lotus Pool. There are also tracks for jogging and biking, paddleboat rides, and a playground for the kids. Surrounding the park are several heritage sites, including the the Raja’s House, and army officers’ residences.
