Regional Museum in Stara Zagora
Housed within a modern building is one of the world’s best collections of ancient artefacts, including Neolithic dwellings and a Roman road.
Sobre
Opened in 1907 by a group of passionate locals, Stara Zagora’s historical museum has expanded from a fairly humble exhibition of local archaeological finds to housing one of the finest ancient art collections in the world. Divided over 4 levels, visitors will find ancient vases, antique bronze and brass objects, and imported coins alongside larger and more unusual showings: two Neolithic dwellings, 30 Thracian chariots, and the original main street of the Roman city of Augusta Trayana. Along with relics from the ancient world, the unique objects and documents from Stara Zagora during the National Revival give visitors a look at the economic, political, and cultural life in the city.
