Tucked away in the city of Changwon’s countryside by the East China Sea lies a K-drama filming set that brings history back to life. This ensemble of recreated buildings includes an iron smelting facility, a horse stable, and markets with props that transport you straight to the Gaya historical era. Sprawling over two and a half acres, the set was built in 2010, and as you've probably guessed, it has since been the birthplace of countless historical K-dramas. The views of market streets, idle docks, and solemn stables make you feel like you've hitched a ride in a time machine. Regrettably, the local info brochures are in the Korean language only, but who needs words when you can simply wander and soak up the vibes of a time gone by? Plus, you’ll get to relive your favourite historical K-dramas such as Mr. Sunshine (2018) or Hwarang (2016). The entry to the site is free, and it's open daily from 9:00 to 18:00 (they close an hour early in winter).
