While its name might be a little misleading considering this it isn’t a lagoon, and its waters aren’t especially blue, the Laguna Azul is still a fantastic natural retreat. Originally known as Amorongachi, this rocky stretch of river is dotted with natural pools, and a few small waterfalls, making it the perfect place to relax, and refresh. And the water is refreshing - it’s fed by the snowcap of the Cotopaxi volcano. The lowest and largest pool is the most popular, so if you’re looking for a more secluded spot, just follow the river upstream.
