La Azotea A sprawling coffee plantation outside Jocotenango, La Azotea features a complex of three museums housed within a 19th century coffee mill and plantation. The mill houses an informative museum where visitors can learn about the history of coffee, complete with fully-functional equipment from the 1800s. Visitors can also tour the historic plantation, and between December and March see coffee production in full swing. Coffee is just one of La Azotea’s didactic draws. You’ll also find a Museum of Mayan Music and Instruments, a reconstructed Mayan village, and exhibitions of masks, paintings, and the Antigua valley’s traditional outfits and crafts.
