Franschhoek Motor Museum

This billionaire’s private collection spans the history of the automobile.

Sobre

The Franschhoek Motor Museum is owned by billionaire Johann Peter Rupert, the second wealthiest man in South Africa, and CEO of one of the world’s premier luxury holding companies. His collection spans the entirety of automotive history, from a 1898 Beeston motor tricycle to a 2003 Ferrari Enzo. Many of the vehicles here have their own fascinating histories, like the 1928 Bugatti 35B Type, which won the Monaco Grand Prix in 1929, was owned by Prince Louis Napoleon of France, and hidden away in Switzerland during World War II. Rupert’s vast collection of nearly 400 vehicles couldn’t fit in the museum’s 4 buildings, so the exhibits are regularly changed. Please note: advanced bookings are required.
