About
Torekallberget's open-air museum is a unique cultural destination located in Södertälje that recreates life in rural Sweden during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Enter the vast outdoor area of over 50 hectares and explore the exhibits, arranged chronologically to show the evolution of this peculiar time in history. Old buildings, historic gardens and farm animals are abundant throughout the grounds, with a miniature 19th century barn especially popular with children, along with the play and craft room. Rabbits, goats, sheep, horses and pigs roam the “Country” side of the museum area, while actors in period costumes reenact daily life in the village and bring exhibits to life. In the “City” side, a cafe is the perfect resting stop to enjoy a cappuccino before browsing a pottery and craft stall for some quaint souvenirs.
