Wat Luang Phor Toh

This huge temple complex with its manicured gardens was built entirely through donations.

About

One of the most impressive temples in the region, Wat Luang Phor Toh was funded entirely by donations, with a particularly large endowment from a Thai actor-turned-monk. Within the complex, visitors can stroll amongst the well-maintained gardens and ponds. Of the several buildings that make up the temple, the largest wat is also the most ornate, with its multi-tiered roof and golden spires. Inside, visitors will find a giant golden statue of Luang Phor Toh, the venerated monk in whose honor the temple was built. As one of the region’s major temples, weekends and Buddhist holidays see Wat Luang Phor Toh inundated with devotees.
