Affected by the Communal Revolution and the Triple Alliance War, this house holds many artifacts of the colonial period unique to its time.
The Museo Casa Oratorio Cabanas was built in the late 17th century and played an important role in the Communal Revolution. The house and property was used to store batteries to defend the Royal Party against an army of Baltasar García Ros missionary Indians. After these battles the house was occupied by multiple owners and was even plundered by troops. Revived by Carlos Antonio López, he brought finer furniture and decorations to return to the house to its former importance. However, during the Triple Alliance War, most of these items were lost, and in the beginning of the 20th century artifacts were being collected to turn the property into a museum. Stepping in this house holds an abundance of history, and it is a miracle that this property has stood the test of time.
