At first glance, the Livingstone–Stanley Monument just a simple boulder with an inscription, but don't let its appearance fool you. This monument represents a pivotal moment in world history; when European explorers set out across Central Africa in the 19th century. Among these intrepid adventurers trekking were two British explorers - Dr. David Livingstone and Henry Morton Stanley. Dr. Livingstone had set out to find the source of the Nile, and in doing so, end the slave trade. After having lost contact for six years, the New York Herald sent Stanley to find him - a two year endeavor in itself. Eventually Livingstone was found, and although this boulder was initially believed to be the meeting place, the actual meeting took place a few weeks earlier in Ujiji, Tanzania. Nevertheless, the two explorers did travel to Mugere, making this monument an essential stop for history buffs. But it's not just the history that makes this spot so special. Take a moment to soak in the gorgeous view of Lake Tanganyika, which adds an extra layer of awe to the experience.

Each passenger is allowed one large bag (29" x 21" x 11" / 74 x 53 x 28 cm) and one small bag (22" x 14" x 9" / 56 x 36 x 23 cm). Luxury sedans can only accommodate 2 large bags.
