Keila-Joa Manor and Waterfall

A neo-gothic manor and a gushing waterfall combine for an authentic historical and environmental Estonian experience in Harju County.

About

Step into a magnificent setting straight out of a gothic fairytale at the site of the Keila-Joa Manor and Waterfall. 6 meters high and tens of meters wide, the Keila waterfall is the third largest in Estonia and neighbors the gorgeous Keila-Joa Park nature trail that meanders past the water’s edge and into the forest. Poised over the cascades is the Keila-Joa Manor complex, built in 1833 as a summer residence for Russian nobility. It was built according to the designs of Hans von Stackenschneider, who became one of the key influences of the historicist style in Russia. Belonging to the National Registry of Cultural Monuments, it includes a two-story neo-Gothic tower, a museum and exhibition room with guided tours and contains the gourmet Restaurant Schloss Fall that serves up delicious meals. Visit the historic site where “God Save the Tsar”, the anthem of the Russian Empire, was first performed for Tsar Nicholas I at Keila-Joa. The site is open year-round, 11AM to 6PM, with an entry fee to the manor of €9.
