Ditch the crowds for Anna Paulowna’s Poldertuin. This miniature version of the famous Keukenhof Gardens is delightful to the eye- and the wallet!
Every spring, Anna Paulowna bursts into color during its famed Flower Days (around 19-23 April), when the polder (village made from reclaimed land) transforms with floral mosaics, decorated streets, and vibrant tulip fields. At the heart of the celebration lies Poldertuin, a free, picturesque garden often called "Keukenhof’s charming little sister." Walk the winding paths, quaint bridges, and canals lined with blooming tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths for the same Dutch floral magic, minus the crowds and high ticket prices. Beyond flowers, Anna Paulowna delights with its storybook houses and lively cafés serving fresh kibbeling (fried fish) and Vietnamese snacks. Animal lovers can visit Dierenpark Hoenderdaell, a rescue zoo housing lions, bears, and macaws.
